Investigation of performance of fuzzy logic controllers optimized with the hybrid genetic-gravitational search algorithm for PMSM speed control

Fuzzy logic controllers (FLCs) are widely used to control complex systems with model uncertainty, such as alternating current motors. The design process of the FLC is generally based on designer’s adjustments controller until desired performance achieved. However, doing in this way makes quite difficult and time-consuming, so it often impossible make a suitable successful design. In study, output membership functions optimized heuristic algorithms reach best speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). This paper proposes new hybrid algorithm called H-GA-GSA, created by combining advantages Genetic Algorithm (GA) Gravitational Search (GSA) optimize FLC. presents convenient adjustment method for optimizing considered. To evaluate effectiveness proposed has been compared GA GSA terms convergence rate, PMSM electromagnetic torque variations. Optimization results obtained from simulation studies verify that H-GA-GSA outperforms GSA.
